Upcoming benefit for the Dialysis Clinic in Kalispell

As a part of our Outreach and support of our community, our guild makes quilts for a number of organizations.  One of these is the Dialysis Center:

In conjunction with National Kidney Month in March and Organ Donor Awareness Month in April the Dialysis Clinic Patient Fund is planning a fundraiser Saturday May 12th at the Eagles in Kalispell MT.
There will be a Spaghetti Dinner, Raffle drawings and Door Prizes along with an Auction.
Admission is $6 for Adults and $3 for kids 12 and under.

If you would like more information or have an item you would like to donate, please contact Robert at the Dialysis Clinic:  406 756 5565

We hope you will be able to attend this event, or if you can't attend, that you consider making a donation for their great work.  You can also join in on our Outreach sew days to help put together the quilts given to patients to add some comfort during their difficult journey.

Springing Forward!

We hope to see you all at the meeting on Thursday!   We will have Kay Conners, from Coeur d'Alene at the April meeting. Her area of expertise is reproduction 30’s quilt.  We are all looking forward to her program!!

And don't forget that May is our Potluck.  It starts at 6:00p.m.  There will be no quilt show meeting in May.  Please bring samples of your best recipes and your appetites.  There are some busy bees working hard to make this a great event - so let’s support it!

Come the March 1st Meeting!

...to welcome in our new executive board members, and to welcome back our returning Co-Presidents!
There will also be a short discussion and trunk show by local textile artist Monique Kleinhans and goodies galore!

Do you use Facebook?  If so, be sure to visit and click "like" on our page.  Today we've also posted a few notes that have the description of our By-laws, our officer duties and a calendar of events.  If you've every wondered what, who, when or why...these notes will make clearer!

As we head closer to spring, the weather is acting more like winter...but that just means there is a bit more time to spend in your sewing rooms (rather than your flowerbeds) so use the time while we have it!

And raffle tickets are now available for sale for our stunning 2012 raffle quilt!  Posters and tickets are in our local quilt stores, and if you're not in the area, just contact us and we'll be sure to get you your lucky chance to win a beautiful and unique quilt!

Happy Sewing!!!

Our Warmest Wishes and Thanks to Give

The Season of Christmas is upon us, and although I'm sure I'm not alone in frantically running my fingers down the list of projects I still have to complete before the 24th-- I hope that we add to our 'to-dos' time to reflect, time to offer thanks, and of course time to gather and enjoy each others' company.

Today was the December potluck with our Sister Guild--The Bigfork Piecemakers, and it was a lovely gathering!  Thank you to all who organized and hosted today...truly, blessed are the Piecemakers!

We are thankful for our partnership, for this wonderful community we live in, for the wonderful fabric stores that feed our addiction, and for the ability to create works of art that are such treasures to give to those we love, as well as give to those we may never meet, but who appreciate the gift of warmth perhaps even more.

May the spirit of the season fill your hearts and mind!
A very Merry Christmas from us to you and yours.

Congratulations!

Dawn was our lucky winner of the 2011 Raffle Quilt!
What a wonderful show it was!  (you can see from clicking on the slideshow above just HOW wonderful everyone's work was this year).

Big thanks to all who showed up to help set up and take down frames, hang quilts, work admissions sell raffle tickets, be a hostess, and help out with our Boutique!  And of course their is never enough thanks for the Quilt Show Committee and all the planning that went into such a fabulous show.  Now we can start looking forward to next year!

We hope to see you all tomorrow night at the guild meeting where we will find out just how successful the show was this year!  Give yourself a pat on the back for another celebration of quilting in Montana.

It is Quilt Show Week!

I'm rubbing my hands after a day of stitching down the last bindings for my quilt show entries this year.  Now to make sure everything is labeled and the info on the special exhibit for this year is printed and 'prettified'.  What is the special exhibit this year you ask?  Well, to celebrate 30 years of quilting in Montana we have invited all of our past featured quilters to display a quilt of their making in the show.  What a wonderful way to enjoy the quilters who helped us get to our 30th year as a guild, along side with all the new quilters who have joined the ranks in the past couple of years.  (not to mention the soon to be members who will want to join in the fun after being inspired by all the beauty that will be hanging in the show this year!)

The quilt show is this Friday (the 23rd) and Saturday (the 24th).  Their will be demos on both days, but I think the vendors will be scheduling them individually this year so I don't have a full list of what will be when.  However, I do know that our guest speaker (Judy Niemeyer) will be giving her presentation at 2pm on Saturday.  I certainly hope to make it to that!  Her patterns continue to amaze and inspire many quilters across the world.

There will also be a silent auction and a wonderful boutique full of items hand made by our members.  Bags, tablerunners, ornaments, quilts, decorator items and more!  It is a wonderful place to shop for some early Christmas presents...I know I will be!

And don't forget to get your final chances at this year's wonderful raffle quilt.

Remember too, that each chance at the main quilt also enters you to win the 'off the floor' quilt made by the leftover fabric from the "The Quilter's Star"!  You can't beat that with a stick ;)

And finally, you can get a sneak peak at the wonderful raffle quilt that is gong to be our raffle for NEXT year.  It is a fantastic collection of talented artists.  Come and see!  (I'll try to post a photo soon for those of you who sadly can't travel to play with us this weekend)

Hope to see you there!
